This page is to support agents of the Second Life section of Trenton Computer Festival

Saturday, April 28th, 2007 at 10 AM to 5 PM East coast, US
Sunday, 29th, 2007 at 10 AM to 4 PM East coast, US

TCF visitors are welcome to follow our plot.  And even tell us what we should have done.

We are all virtual attendees of the TCF and will take part in presentations.
Some of us will speak via TeamSpeak.
Some of us will appear as interesting avatars.
Some of us will work to welcome people from TCF who want to enter Second Life or find out more about it.
How to set up TeamSpeak.    TeamSpeak is available for Windows and Linux.  You can get a free download at the link on the right.  If you are using a Mac, my recommendation is:  Don't bother.  There is an unofficial version, but I would not ask anyone to use that.    TeamSpeak2 -- Download and install.
How to link TeamSpeak for the TCF presentation.
Initial Setup:
Open TeamSpeak.
Select Connection>Quick connect.
Enter the server address -- I will give you that in private communication.  You must use quick connect
Enter your nickname.  Use your SL first name.

Go to settings>Sound Settings.  Select push to talk and press Set  When the little window tells you to press a key, press the right alt key. That key then becomes your push to talk key.

Be sure you are using headphones, not your speakers.

That's all you can do until we are having a conference.  I will contact you inworld or by e-mail to arrange a TeamSpeak meetings about presentations.

For help on using Team Speak, contact (inworld)

Presenters -- set up so we can find you.
You are all on my (Thinkerer) friends list.  Please set your friends options so I can see you on the map.  I will use that method to go directly to the place you have chosen for the interview.

Code Tracer will offer you a friends link.  if you don't get it, send him a friends link.  Then set your friends options so he can see you on the map.  He will use that method to go to the interview site.

Thanks -- TM

General plan for co-presenters interview
Just think over these questions.  Don't do a lot of planning

Thinkerer will bring the audience to your location and introduce you.  Thinkerer will interview you to bring out things of interest, like these:

>>Where you live in RL (geographic diversity)>>Professional/employment background (Computer-related?  Far from computers?).
>>Main interest in SL (Here promote what you do.  Focus on one important thing that you can show and describe concretely.  Don't make a Power Point list.)
>>Employment in SL?  If yes: Employer, job description.
>>Do you find SL to be socially isolating?  (You are allow to laugh here, but please delete the first expletive that comes to mind.)
>>What else should I have asked?

The interview location will probably be the place of your main interest.  Don't just talk about it.  Walk around in it.  Demonstrate.
To point out things, put flags on them (I use a small red flexiprim).
If it seems useful, build something on the spot.
Invite the audience to drop by during -- or after - the festival.

Second Life Open House for TCF Guests
Here's how:

1. Get people who know what you are doing to hang around your site during much of the weekend.

2. Display the TCF banners, signs, and/or badges.  I have one sign that you can size up for a big display or size down for a badge or personal sign.  I will be sending them out to people, but feel free to ask.  Or drop by TQ or Hobo Village (Calleta) and take a copy.
