Set a concrete objective Talk about abstract wishes
Identify concrete actions. Stick to abstract actions.
Talk about the outcome you want to see. Talk about what you want to stop.
Talk about what you can do. Talk about what you want somebody else to do.
Focus on what you can do in the immediate future. Talk about "someday."
Set a definite time for the action you can do. Leave a thing till you "get around to it."
Know how to tell when you have done what you intended to do. Talk about desired action without specifying the desired goal.
Break long-term goals into small units with concrete actions and milestones Talk about long-term wishes.
Finding out/figuring out is a legitimate goal Stick to "I don't know...."
