Can I run Second Life in Windows 7?
Yes.   Despite what the official website says, lots of people run Second Life on windows 7.
See the comment from Torley Linden (current and long time Linden employee).

I have been following the forums on this matter and seen a few people describing problems.  For the most part, these sound like problems with graphics cards and drivers. You do want to be sure your graphics driver is up to date.  And if the installer does not recognize your graphics card, it may set your graphics quality to the minimum.  That will look terrible.  You can reset it:

Me (top menu, right) > Preferences > Graphics > Quality and Speed-- set slider high for start, reduce it to Mid if things are too slow or jerky.

For the the 64 bit version, Windows needs to run Second life
in a compatibility mode.  On my machine, the installation was done automatically, but if you have trouble, you may want to check Windows Help for the compatibility mode.
