A.R.T. production checklist
How to get into Second Life without really trying

A.R.T. task list for productions (not necessarily in this order) @2009-02-21

1. Concept development - what's it going to look like, overall interpretation, whether ticketed or tip jar, estimated audience size and ticket price, what it's going to sound like (streaming, Skype, Talk, music etc.), sim resources needed.

2. Production budget and fundraising seed money

3. Arrange for venue or venues

4. Arrange for sets, if any, and design the blocking to go with

5. Arrange for costumes, if applicable, and get everyone dressed

6. Schedule performance dates and times

7. Establish a rehearsal schedule

8. Script prep - translations, copyright issues, cuts.  Make sure actors have the current version.

9. Cast the show

10. Arrange for voice and blocking directors

11. Arrange for sound tech for SL sounds, Talk, Stream

12. Arrange for stage manager and audience wranglers during performances

13. Arrange for money handling for tips a/or tickets - arrange for production treasurer

14. Write press release, distribute to groups and notifiers. Update as necessary and redistribute.

15. Design and build a poster, distribute with the notecard, landmarks

16. Notices to actors - rehearsal reminders and other information they need

17. If a program is necessary or desirable, arrange for it - notecard, Thincbook, etc.

18. Selling ads in the program? Establish the contact person.

19. Publicity - notices, contact media people

20. Machinima before going live?  Need a video artist.

21. Supervise rehearsals and adjust cast as needed.

22. Make sure money collection and ticketing, if any, is documented

23. Calculate the split.

24. Pay the troupe.

25. Store and archive the production so it can be performed again.

26. Thank-yous to donors, notecards to audience to build contact list for next show.
