Thinking 101: The class you didn't get in school

How to get into Second Life without really trying

Selby Evans is Thinkerer Melville in Second Life

Don’t people learn to think in school?   When was your last class in thinking? Did you take Introductory Thinking?  Why not?  Wasn't offered where you went to school?  Didn't have any qualified teachers?

Maybe where you went to school, people just automatically learned to think.  Same way they learn to talk or to run.  So people never needed help to build better thinking skills.  Or better speaking skills.  Or better running skills.

So they wouldn't need classes in public speaking.  And coaches wouldn't have their athletes work on running skills.

It was pretty much that way where we went to school.  Except they had figured out that speaking and running could get really good with help.  They never did figure out that thinking could get better with help.  But maybe they didn't have enough help with their thinking.

Luke: What's in there?   Yoda: Only what you take with you.
