Set Demo Here is a demonstration of psychological set we hope you tried on the way here. Write as many white edible things as you can. If you have not already done this part,
do it now. |
See the
Ideator To answer, you will establish a psychological set. |
|
Imagine that you live one of these places: Japan, Hawaii, Alaska, or Iceland. What new ideas do you think of?
Imagine that you are one of these: Caterpillar. Termite. Cockroach. Goat. What new ideas do you think of?
|
These suggestions are designed to break the original set by substituting a new set. This is also called thinking outside of the box. Outboxing |
|
Here are some inferences you can draw from this demonstration:
You know a lot more than you can think of in the moment.
Ideas hide from you because of your perspective. Change your viewpoint to see more ideas.
There may not be a “right” perspective. Any change in your viewpoint is likely to serve you more ideas than the viewpoint you have already milked dry.
Some Thinkerer pages do nothing but help you change perspective. |
