On August 15, 16, 17, 2008, the companies above presented free live performances of the play to live audiences in Second Life. Thinkerer Studios captured video of these performances. The videos to appear on this page are constructed of selections from all three performances to recreate the entire play in the best quality. Fresh music clips were provided by Moxy Barracuda to remedy some audio problems.

As far as we know, this is the first full-length Shakespearian play produced in Second Life.

Each video is available for download from the blip.tv page. The downloaded videos are in full-frame .wmv format and can be be edited in Windows Movie Maker. They are released under Creative Commons attribution-only license, meaning that anyone can use any part of the videos as long as the result carries credits acknowledging the source. Act 1, Scene 1 (Part 1) The terrace by the palace of Theseus, Duke of Athens. Egeus arrives with his daughter, Hermia, and her two suitors, Demetrius and Lysander. Egeus demands that Theseus force Hermia to wed Demetrius. Hermia, in love with Lysander, opposes her father's will. Theseus puts off action till the time of his wedding to Hippolyta.

Act 1, Scene 1 (Part 2). As others leave, Lysander and Hermia decide to elope, planning to meet the following night in the woods near Athens. Helena, in love with Demetrius, learns of the elopement plan and hopes to win his attention by exposing the plan to Demetrius.

Oberon wants a changeling now owned by Titania. She refuses. Oberon plots against her.

Oberon sends Puck to get magic drops that, when applied to sleeper, make the person fall in love with the first living thing they see on waking. Oberon also sees Demetrius, followed by Helena. When Puck returns, Oberon gives him added instructions to put the magic drops in the Athenian's eyes, causing him to fall in love with Helena.

Titania falls asleep and Oberon applies magic drops to her eyes.

Hermia and Lysander are lost in the forest and decide to sleep till morning. Puck arrives and mistakenly applies the magic drops to Lysander's eyes. Helena comes in pursuit of Demetrius. Lysander wakes and falls in love with her.

Puck gives Bottom the head of an ass. The other mechanicals run away in fright. Bottom sings and wakes Titania. Under the spell of the flower, she falls in love with him. Titania, in love with the ass-headed Bottom, brings her fairies in to tend to him.

Titania is in love with an ass (Bottom). Oberon causes Demetrius to fall in love with Helena. Lysander woos Helena.

Demetrius and Lysander propose a duel, but Puck leads them through the forest till they tire and fall asleep. Puck restores Lysander to normal, loving Hermia.

Titiania's bed: resolution -- Oberon sets things right. Oberon sets things right, Lysander loves Hermia, Demetrius loves Helena, and Bottom is no longer an ass.
