Ben Bother is a Former Famous News Anchor. He was replaced by a reality show. He is a parody of the nightly national news, at least as I remember it from the last century. (Ok -- so I like to pick easy targets.)

As a character, think Les Nessman from WKRP Cincinnati. He is pompous, moralizing, generally eager to denounce something, especially anything new. He is always sympathetic to children, the elderly (his demographic), the poor, and television. He is particularly interested in news about false teeth, constipation, baldness, and other problems of aging (his main source of commercials)
